CVTA’s Executive Director, Andrew Poliakoff recently had the opportunity to tour Schneider National’s new electric truck charging depot in Southern California.
The El Monte facility can simultaneously charge 32 Class 8 EVs and serves as a specific use-case success story, supporting intermodal operations in a high-density infrastructure setting.
The fleet of responsive, whisper quiet Freighliner eCascadia trucks are popular with drivers at the location and feature numerous safety technologies like active break assist and lane departure warning to increase driver safety.
