Last week, CVTA’s Chairman, Jerome Redmond from American Truck Training in Oklahoma City, testified before the House Ways & Means Committee.
Chairman Redmond testified in support of H.R. 1477, the Freedom to Invest in Tomorrow’s Workforce Act.
This bill would allow 529 College Savings Plans to pay for professional truck driver training and other career education programs.
Passage of this bill would allow college savings plans to become career savings plans.
Most importantly, it would provide additional tools to CVTA Members as they help students pay for training that opens the door to lifechanging professional truck driving careers.
