Georgia Congressman and Trucking Company Owner Shares His Priorities for the Trucking Industry

Congressman Mike Collins represents Georgia’s 10th Congressional District in the House of Representatives. Congressman Collins serves on the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, and he pays particular attention to trucking issues through his role on the Highways and Transit Subcommittee.
Congressman Collins has co-sponsored legislation that will support the trucking industry, including a proposal to allow 529 College Savings Plans to be used for truck driver training and increased flexibility for weight distribution on commercial motor vehicles.
The Congressman also owns and operates Collins Trucking Company, headquartered in Jackson, Georgia. He and his wife Leigh Ann started the company in the early 1990s. Collins Trucking Company has grown to employ more than 100 Georgians and hauls freight all over America.
