FMCSA Extends Federal Waiver Until February 28, 2021

Dec 17, 2020

On December 17, the FMCSA again took further action to assist in the national recovery effort by continuing to waive various federal requirements in the trucking industry. Due to the pandemic, the Agency noted that is again “in the public interest to grant a waiver, limited in scope and circumstances, that is likely to achieve a level of safety that is equivalent to, or greater than, the level of safety that would be obtained in the absence of the waiver.”

Critically, CVTA members will note that today’s document covers the 14 day testing rule and “waives until February 28, 2021, the requirement under 49 CFR 383.25(e) that CLP holders wait 14 days to take the CDL skills test.” CVTA thanks the FMCSA for their continued support of the truck driver training community through these federal actions.
