CVTA Members Participate in Georgia Town Hall on CDL Issues

Nov 15, 2022

CVTA’s former Chairman Brad Barber, Founder and Campus President of Georgia Driving Academy, participated in a panel discussion at a town hall hosted by the Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) this week. The panel heard from 125 attendees on CDL issues, including implementation of new Modernized Skills Test Procedures in Georgia, state third-party testing rules, and upcoming DDS projects that support Governor Kemp’s pledge to improve the supply chain by increasing the number of CDL Drivers in Georgia.

Several other CVTA members were in attendance for the town hall, including Tim McLain (Swift Transportation), Ed Tanksley (Katlaw Truck Driving School), Vivian Groover (Roadmaster – Savannah), David Abanathie (TDI-CDI), Tony Thomas (Georgia Driving Academy – Columbus), Katie Dobrogorskaya (Commercial Driving Academy), and John Haffner (Stevens Transport).

We appreciate Georgia DDS for hosting their first town hall and creating an open forum for CVTA members and others in our industry to hear from state leaders.
