Information
on the
Training Provider Registry
The Commercial Vehicle Training Association (CVTA) is the largest association of commercial truck driving schools. Working with Carrier and Associate members on critical industry issues, CVTA is promoting highway safety through quality training.
COVID-19 Update
CVTA wishes the very best for all our members. We continue to work on your behalf on Legislative and Regulatory Issues. We are also tapping our talented Associate Members to provide information on navigating the new normal.
Entry Level Driver Training Regulation
The Entry Level Driver Training Regulation takes effect on February 7, 2022. Anyone seeking a Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (“CDL”), a School Bus (S), Passenger (P), or Hazardous Materials (H) endorsement will have to undergo formal training and be certified by an approved training provider before taking the CDL skills exam. All school, employer, union, or individuals providing training (“Training Provider”) must register their program with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (“FMCSA”), ensure their program meets or exceeds all ELDT curriculum requirements, and meet all federal, state, and local laws.
Any person who does not receive training from an authorized training provider will not be allowed to sit for the CDL Skills Exam.
By clicking below, I consent to receive telephone calls and text messages from the Commercial Vehicle Training Association containing information at the number above about their programs. I understand that the calls and messages may be initiated with automated equipment and that I am not required to provide this consent to be eligible to enroll.
Professional Development
CVTA engages in a number of educational programs in order to achieve a level of excellence in driver training.
