F. Michael Reilly is Randall-Reilly’s chairman, president and chief executive officer. Under Reilly’s leadership, the company has experienced phenomenal growth reaching more than $75 million in revenue and employing more than 400 associates at offices in Tuscaloosa, Ala., Chicago, Ill., Charlotte, N.C., and Milwaukee, Wis. Reilly’s strategic vision has transformed the company from a small business-to-business publishing firm into an innovative media and business information company.

During his more than 30-year career with the company, Reilly’s strategic vision has led to numerous start ups and acquisitions which have strengthened the company’s platforms in the construction, trucking and industrial sectors.

In 2005, along with Wachovia Capital Partners, Reilly purchased Randall Publishing from the Randall family and renamed it Randall-Reilly Publishing. In February 2008 Reilly and a group of key managers partnered with Investcorp to buy the equity of Wachovia Capital Partners.

Reilly began his career at what was then Randall Publishing while a student at the University of Alabama. Upon graduation, he joined the company full time, working closely with Chief Executive Officer Pettus Randall III. Apart from a brief stint with Gulf Publishing in Houston, Texas, Reilly has spent his entire career with Randall.

Reilly was promoted to president and chief executive officer in February 2002 after serving as president since 1984 and president and chief operating officer since 1987. Prior to that, he served as president and publisher of Overdrive and Equipment World magazines and vice president of sales and marketing for Randall Publishing.

Reilly serves on the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Birmingham Branch, and in 2009 will become chairman of the board of the Birmingham Branch. Reilly also serves on the President’s Cabinet at the University of Alabama and the Commerce & Business Administration Board of Visitors at the University of Alabama. He is a member of the board of directors of the University of Alabama Red Elephants Club. He is a Corporate Board Life Member of the Boys & Girls Club of West Alabama and is a past chairman. He serves on the Board of DCH Foundation, Inc. He has also served on the board of the West Alabama Chamber of Commerce, United Way of West Alabama, North River Yacht Club and American Business Media. He served on the board of the National Association of Truck Stop Operators (NATSO) for eight years. In 2009, Reilly was named an H. Pettus Randall Entrepreneur of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama.

A 1976 graduate of the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science degree, in 1995 Reilly completed the Program on Negotiation for Senior Executives at Harvard University. He is a frequent guest lecturer at the University of Alabama School of Business and the Honors College.

Reilly enjoys walking, jogging, biking, college sports (especially football and basketball), and spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends on the gulf coast of Alabama.

An active member of St. Francis Catholic Church at the University of Alabama, Reilly also participates in the Kairos Prison Ministry.
