Truckers Against Trafficking

Kendis Paris is the national director of Truckers Against Trafficking, an organization that exists to educate, equip, empower and mobilize members of the trucking and travel plaza industry to combat domestic sex trafficking. She’s been involved in fighting human trafficking since 2008, when, as one of her initial efforts, she co-coordinated a national Human Trafficking Awareness Conference in Denver, Colorado, which brought together some of the nation’s top anti-trafficking speakers and over 300 participants to learn more about human trafficking and what they can do to combat it.

American Trucking Associations (ATA)

Bob Costello is the Chief Economist and Vice President for the American Trucking Associations (ATA), the national trade association for the trucking industry. As Chief Economist, he manages all of ATA's collection, analysis and dissemination of trucking economic information. This includes several monthly trucking economic indicators, motor carrier financial and operating data, an annual freight transportation forecast, driver wage studies, weekly diesel fuel price and economic reports, and a yearly trucking almanac.  Bob also conducts economic analyses of proposed regulations and legislation affecting the trucking industry.

Bob is often cited in the news media as an expert on trucking economics, including the Wall Street Journal, Business Week, CNBC, FOX Business Channel, and National Public Radio.

Warren E. Hoemann

WarrenHoemannWarren E. Hoemann ("Hay-man") is a senior vice president with the American Trucking Associations (ATA). At ATA, Mr. Hoemann oversees several business units and is the ATA liaison with key affiliate organizations.

Before coming to ATA, Mr. Hoemann was the Deputy Administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) at the U.S. Department of Transportation from 2003-2006. Prior to his service in the federal government, Mr. Hoemann had a long career in the trucking industry, including vice president of the California Trucking Association (CTA), vice president of government relations for Yellow Corporation (now YRC Worldwide), and general counsel for the Western Highway Institute, a trucking industry research organization. He started his career as a private attorney in Denver, Colorado, representing motor carriers.

Mr. Hoemann is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of St. Olaf College in Minnesota with a law degree from the University of Colorado School of Law. He currently sits on the External Advisory Board of the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute (UMTRI).

Kevin R. Lewis

Kevin R LewisKevin R. Lewis, Director, Driver Programs, American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators

Kevin was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on January 5, 1955.

Served in the United States Navy in the military intelligence arena from 1973 to 1979 and graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Business Administration in 1985.

Kevin has over 35 years of Information Systems, Computer Hardware/Software Integration, and Driver Licensing experience. Kevin has worked for a wide variety of employers, including NASA, where he worked on the first 3 Space Shuttle launches and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) where he was responsible for managing the Agency’s Data Processing Center as well as providing computer hardware support for over 1,500 workstations.

Kevin joined AAMVAnet in August, 1997 as the Driver Systems Implementation Manager and became Manager of the Operations Department in June, 1998. In March of 2000 he assumed the position of CDL Safety Director in AAMVA’s Programs department. He currently serves as Director of Driver Programs in AAMVA’s Programs and Member Support department

Kevin has been married for 27 years and resides in Mitchellville, Maryland.
